My husband is a cook and wears WHITE chef jackets, does anyone have a way to get them back to white?
The stains are from cooking 8 hour days. They are set in and if you can think of a food it’s probably on there.
Clorox won’t do it? I thought enough Clorox would get out almost anything.

Leave them to soak overnight in the washer full of bleachy water.
Then wash on hot.
That’s what i did and it wortked as well as it could be expected.
Then again, some stains just won’t come out, ie Tomato, Chocolate, wine….
He’d be better served to wear the apron over the front, it saves the jacket getting stains…

I would try the Oxy products. Spray with Clorox "Oxy Magic" spray over the stained areas and let it sit for a little while (15 mins?) Then wash the jackets with a detergent that contains colorsafe bleach, but also throw in 2 full scoops of Oxy Clean into each load. If it works on my stepson’s filthy socks, it might just work on your husband’s jackets.

1. One of my laundry favorites is Iron Out. I’ve found that this cleans my whites nicely, even if they’re not stained from iron or other minerals.
2. Dawn detergent is good for greasy stains.
3. Try soaking the jackets in a bleach- water solution. Don’t use straight bleach, as it will weaken the material. Bleach can also cause yellowing– which brings us back to the Iron out: it works great on that yellow dinginess on whites that have been washed in bleach.
4. Shout stain remover can be helpful.

I suggest, hang them in the sunshine to dry. I know it works wonders on nappies. The sun bleaches and sanitises them. I have even had tomato based stains bleach out of my son’s t-shirts.
