What are some easy steps I can do at a young age to become a chef in the future?

I want to become a chef in the future and I’m wondering what are some easy steps I can do to begin this at a young age? I don’t really have much idea what to do when I am cooking either. I am male and 13 by the way.

  2. It depends how old you have to be to work in your area. Where I live it’s 14. Get a job in a kitchen as soon as you can. As a teen it shouldn’t be too hard to get a job washing dishes. All the best Chef’s started in the dish pit. Ask lots of questions. Watch what’s going on around you. If your dishes are caught up volunteer to help with something. Most places like to teach you and will promote from within. It only takes a cook to not show up one day for you to find yourself doing prep or being move up to the line.
